The chairs valued at just over £18,000 were co-funded by CHIPS with whom we had worked before. The remainder of the money came from Peter Adams, on behalf of the Lilley C Johnson Trust, the Joseph Patrick Memorial Trust and the Winos who collectively and individually had contributed nearly £2,000. A large part of the Winos' money represented the "birdies and ousels" winnings which they elected to donate to a charity chosen by the overall winner of the Wednesday and Friday morning competitions over the year. The winner was Noel Green who picked the Wheelchair Crusade.
Funding is in place for a further two chairs which will be presented later in the Summer on dates to be agreed. This will bring to 47, valued at over £250,000, the chairs presented by Moseley Golf Club since Joe Stephens chose the Crusade as his Captain's Charity in 1999. It takes us agonisingly close to the magical 50 chairs which would exceed all expectations. With a bit of luck and a following wind we will get there.
